A Love She Thought Was True

She sits there with him
not saying a word,
Listening to everything he has to say
about him not loving her.
He tells her that it's over,
That he doesn't love her anymore.
She still sits in solitude...
not knowing what she's waiting for.
All these thoughts are running through her head.
Her heart is breaking.
Yet, she never says a word... she just lets the pain continue aching.
She sits there with tears running down her face,
he doesn't really care that he brought her to that stage.
She loved him more than love all together.
She believed him all those times when he said forever.
Gullable, naive, this she all may very well be.
But love is blind and she still can't see.
She thought his love was true.
She thought he meant it when he said, "I love you."
She sees from her heart
and not the mind.
And she's had her heart broken,
so now she's blind.
She still wants him
and he doesn't care.
She sits there alone
with him not there.
A love she thought was true
now left her broken apart.
I guess that is the price we pay
for giving someone our heart.
